After a time for processing and reflection regarding the Supreme Court’s decision regarding Roe Vs Wade, the Acting Co-Executive Directors of WOAR-Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence have issued the following statement today:
WOAR-Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence (formerly known as Women Organized Against Rape), was founded in 1971 and incorporated in 1973. Since 1971, WOAR-Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence has fought for the rights of women. We are deeply disappointed in the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe Vs. Wade, and we hope that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will continue to support all women in Pennsylvania.
WOAR stands with Pennsylvania Coalition against Rape (https://pcar.org/news/abortion-human-right-response-scotus-ruling-overturning-roe-v-wade). WOAR stand with our partners in the City of Philadelphia and our supporters. We will continue to advocate for rights of women as we have always done, and we want you to know that you are seen, you are heard, and we are here for you.
